Hiraga Saito is a normal high school student who is suddenly summoned into another world by a haughty witch named Louise. Louise's magical skills are so bad that she is called “Louise the Zero” (referencing her success rate) and she has summoned Saito while attempting to summon a familiar. Given no choice but to take Saito as her familiar, Louise kisses him to seal the contract, and suddenly mysterious letters appear on the back of Saito's hand, binding the two and marking him as hers. Thus begins Louise and Saito's adventures as Master and Familiar.

Tiffania Westwood, of oppai anime Zero no Tsukaima, is set to receive this unsurprisingly extreme dakimakura version. Fans of huge breasted elves are sure to be delighted. The cover is due at the end of November, in the region of ¥9,000. The earlier dakimakura is dishearteningly similar (and now out...

Fall 2008 Mid-Season Check
As the season is around halfway through its run, I decided to write a bit about how the shows have been doing so far. All in all this season has been quite impressive with a lot of good series around and I am more than satisfied. But without any more intro babble, let me present you another spreadsheet...

Fall ‘08
This was supposed to be a first impression of all the Fall season series I’ve watched, but since it’s been delayed for nearly 3 weeks, I’ve decided not to include series which I’ve dropped. Gundam 00 It’s definitely looking a lot better than the first season, although...

The Japanese [heart] France
The English language in general and the U.S. in particular are a great source of inspiration to Japan, and America often represents many high ideals to socially-restricted Japanese young people, including that always-elusive concept of "freedom" they associate with us, despite not really having an idea...

Fall Season 08 Impressions and other shows
Let us just go straight to the point. Shall we? Aye. Toradora: I have never seen Zero No Tsukaima and I gave up on Shana after the first season; hence, I am not exactly sick of tsundere characters. The flow of the story is not stiff so it is decent to watch, Taiga is unrealistically violent but we...

Zero no Tsukaima III DVD Uncensored – Oppai Raep Anime
Sankaku Complex
The second DVD of distinctly raunchy tsundere anime Zero no Tsukaima III seems to have excited the attention (and more) of fans, with mysterious darkness banished from screen, and some saucy extra images; you can see it compared below. There are also these erotic Louise images: Via Renka. More Zero...

Anime Diet

Face Off: Ray vs. Mike on Kannagi
Anime Diet
Mike: What is it that makes me like this show so far? Is it the very catchy OP song? (I have it stuck in my head right now.) Or the not-quite-as-cliched interaction between Jin and Nagi, though objectively speaking it’s not anything particularly new? I’m not sure, really. All that I know...

My Moe-mpathy for Taiga (and Lack of Sympathy for the Novel/Manga Elitists)
I want a Palmtop Taiga plushie *___* So I watched two episodes of ToraDora, and found it awesome. Ironically, the Taiga HATE I’ve seen in the anime community prior to watching made me all the more willing to check it out, enjoy it, love it, and well now, blog it too. Troll genes triggered? I don’t...

Here we have the rather interesting DVD sales ranking for 2008 anime, in this case focused on the first volume as a proxy for total popularity. Megami Magazine Memorial Book (2006-8)
2006 (glaring typo!) would be the Year of the Tanuki with the airing of AIR TV and movie (pun unintended, it’s the Kabitzin Geass, I swear!), Nanoha A’s, Zero no Tsukaima, Canvas2 and SHUFFLE! Though ToHeart2 and D.C.S.S. were, particularly the latter, sources of disappointment and unsatisfaction...

Toradora 02 - とらドラ!
Rating:     01: 「Ruuji and Taiga -(竜児と大河)」 My foremost impression from the first episode of Toradora was that it tried very little to avoid the trappings of its predecessors (Shana and Zero no Tsukaima). My fears of the show falling into the same old tsundere-romance...
